Our Moms have been very inspirational in creating what we are today. We hope to carry on their legacy.
Kulani’s Mom is Esther Leina’ala Roy Nelson. She passed away a week before we opened our new location, but she was able to give her blessing upon our new shop. Kulani used to work with her after school growing up at her shave ice truck on Oahu where he learned the art of shaving “fine soft snow” from his mother. What has always touched his heart the most was her love for the keiki (children) and for the aina (land). She opened her heart and her doors to all and her mantra was , Aloha O Ke Akua, God is Love. Ask Kulani about the ONE story his mother loved telling about her sharing the love of God, in her special way to one particular child who would steal candy from her food truck…the story that inspired One Aloha Shave Ice Co.
Leilani’s mom, Connie Riley, has been a strong supporter sending her love and support to help us succeed! Her strong support and help have been so important to our new endeavor.
We want our shop to honor the sense of Aloha that our moms have given us, and now we want to share it with you!
